That’s a great question. One practice I follow with my doctoral students is to try to read and discuss them together, so they have some one to translate any unconstructive critique. Another practice that I hear others follow is having someone else read and summarize the reviews in more neutral language and read them before reading the original review. I wonder how well they work.
